Grace - April 15th 2012

April GRACE Report
Around 70 elders and youth gathered together in the Alvernia School Auditorium at around 9:00 am. The MC Jeena ,along with Kochurani welcomed the crowd and started the day with the Holy Rosary. Our resource for the day was Fr. Jose Anjanikkal. He is a very valuable personality, serving the Lord in amazing ways.
He is currently the chairman of Kerala Service Team and secretary of KCBC. He has served many years as Principal of various schools and has rich experience with children and adolescents. He shared many incidents he came across while being with children.He said that often adults, just like children long for love ,care and respect from others. Sometimes all it takes to solve a big problem or misunderstanding would just be the kindness to listen to what a person has to say.
He gave us a strong message, to be sensitive to others around us and be caring enough to listen to what they have to say. We celebrated the Holy Mass at the Alvernia Chapel at around 12:30 pm with Fr. Jose Anjanikkal. After lunch,the music ministry entertained us with an action song.
It was followed by the next session by Fr.Anjanikkal. We had a very inspiring sharing by Tonyabout starting a new prayer group in Pollachi. Finally,we had a beautiful adoration session led by Fr. Anjanikkal. At the end of the day we distributed Easter egg and word of God and each person was asked to inscribe the verse which they received on the egg.Everybody lovingly exchanged their Easter egg as a form of Easter gift to each other..

December GRACE Report
“My Grace is
sufficient for you”. (2 Cori 12/9)
Coimbatore monthly 3rd Sunday program
“GRACE” took place on 18th December 2011 at Alvernia Convent,
Ramanathapuram. 7 more days to Christmas, it was really a blessed occasion for
Christmas preparation for Kovai Youth & families. Another beautiful thing
which made December Grace different from the previous programmes was that, it
was a homely get together of the families of the Jesus Youth in Coimbatore. In spite of
the distractions from the current Mullaperiyar issue and the hurdles in the
Kerala-Coimbatore border, it was the “Grace” and protection (Ps:91/1) of the
Almighty which brought the families and the resources from Kerala. Around 130
elders and youth, and our resource Elvischettan & family gathered in the
Alvernia School Auditorium at around 9:00 am.The stage with a beautiful Crib
for baby Jesus and the flying Christmas balloons brought in a real Christmas
mood.The MCs Leo and Minu welcomed the crowd and started the event with the Holy
Rosary. The Spirit filling Music session led by Coimbatore Music Ministry,
created a warm atmosphere for the participants. Then came the most awaited
sessions by Elvis Kottooran, senior JY elder and preacher from Kerala. He has a
vast lot of experience in preaching bible and has travelled to many countries
for preaching. He mainly preached on the changes that happen to a person life
once he has received God’s Grace. His life itself was an excellent example for
that. He also preached about the importance of accepting/suffering the
difficulties of life as Jesus has suffered for our sins. He also preached the
importance of knowing God’s will for our life. We always pray to Him to get rid
of our sufferings and hardships, but most of us are not ready to accept and
suffer together with his sufferings.
We celebrated the Holy Mass at the
Alvernia Chappel at around 12:30 pm with our Fr. Johnson Anthikkad, Coimbatore
Jesus Youth Animator. After the lunch we had a small testimony sharing by Fina
Maria, about the blessings that Lord has showered in her final year JY life at Avinashilingam Engg College
and the blessings of the Holy Rosary in her life. The following session by
Elvis Chettan mainly focused on the overflowing “Grace” from above. It was
really an anointing session emphasizing that His “Grace” is above everything else,
and the real focus of the Christmas season is
to be filled with the Grace like the Graceful Mother Mary.
Then we honoured Fr.George Narikkuzhy on his Ordination day. He
addressed the crowd and wished a Graceful Christmas. Then we had a small
sharing about the Orissa Mission by Jomy Chettan. During the evening tea, at the
Alvernia Ground, our Santa – Deloy Chettan- came riding on a bike, distributing
sweets and gifts. Then we had a Christmas celebration eve with carol music and
action songs. It was made much colourful with our Santa caps stitched by Juli
Chechi. Then Christmas cakes and Word of
God in silver rolls were given to everyone to share the joy of Christmas.Needless
to say, it was another aninting event in Coimbatore
where we really experienced the overflowing
