Annual Year Report - 2011

                  This year started with a Leaders Formation Program(LFP). It was a monthly gathering of students and professionals from Erode,Salem, Coimbatore,Nammakkal gathering for 2 days from Saturday evening to Sunday evening. It was a continuous 8 months training program January-September. The sessions were handled by JY elders on various aspects of Christian Leadership. Our last LFP was on September and was blessed with the presence of our beloved bishop Rt.rev.Paul Alappat.

A D Cristo,a one week retreat cum seminar for plus 2 students held at Ettimadai,Rosmanian Ashramam. Around 40 students from various parts of Coimbatore attended AD Cristo..The outreach to Snehalaya was really touching moments for the emerging youths.

The Girls Retreat was held at Alvernia Convent School. Around 80 attended the retreat conducted by Fr. John Kattatu V.C. and Br. Sasi Emmanuel from Aug 19th -21st.

We went for several outreaches :
1.   Snehalaya,Ettimadai
2.   Ashraya Bhavan,BommanumPalayam
3.   Alvernia Old age home
4.   Mother Teresa Sisters of Charity,Sungam

Catex Prolife Exhibition:
                              JYs in Coimbatore run the stall for prolife in Catex Exhibition held from NOV 11th -20th was mind blowing to several hearts…..Its helped to inculcate the importance of “life” among the people who visited it…
Grace:
The monthly third Sunday gathering for JYs in Coimbatore held at Alvernia Convent School, Ramnathpuram. .Around 50 youth and 15 families participated in previous months..
Horaeb:
    One day seminar for Sunday Catechism Students of 8th and 9th held at Holy trinity Church ,Ramnathpuram in diocesonel level at Nov 27th ..The JYs volunteered the program and assisted for audio visual..
Annual retreat:
A three day retreat was held at Rosmanian ashramam at Ettimadai from Nov 24th – 27th.
It was led by Fr. John Kattatu V.C and Br. Davis.Around 30, including youth and elders, attended the retreat…

Leaders formation program, Girls retreat follow-up and family Gathering - Report

We started the final LFP @6pm in Alvernia convent with a strong intercession. During intercession we recited the Holy Rosary inside the program hall still 7.pm. Then we had a small sharing about our own God experiences and the blessings which we got in our life through LFP. Then Diloy chetan took a small session regarding Jesus is the best friend. All shared their thoughts regarding Jesus as a good friend. Then we recited one decade and went for dinner.

The next day morning LFP-8 started with a Rosary @ 7am followed by a small Praise and Worship led by John. Then the first session started. Jose Sebastian (JYNT member) took the session. It was about discipleship .He beautifully explained about seeker stage, believer stage, disciple stage and prophet stage. We could think about the stages we are standing as of now.

We had breakfast @8.45, then the participants of girls retreat came for their follow up program. They had a separate session in the chapel led by Fr.John Kattattu (Divine retreat centre, now in Kasargod) for the girls retreat participants .The LFP continued in the program hall. Jose chetan’s sharing give us an idea of ‘how to become a missionary for Lord Jesus’. We celebrated Holy Mass with our JY Director, Johnson Anthikad achan. The time was really blessed with such a gifted priest. Post lunch we had a marvelous session about Holy Spirit led by Fr.John and Jose chetan. Then we had a time of adoration.

After the tea break we gathered in the chapel. The families joined with us in the chapel .Jose chettan took a combined session for both youth and family regarding family life with his life experiences. The evening was blessed with the presence of Rev. Bishop Paul Alappat. He gave us a sweet and inspiring message regarding “how today’s youth can live in this world with Jesus”.

He gave a good message to our fellow parents too. Its nice to remember that our loving bishop was with us in our journey of LFP. For increasing our joy and happiness Vicar General Narikuzhi achan accompanied with him. The adoration led by John achan was quite blessed moments. Our beloved bishop was with us around 6 to 8.30 PM.

He anointed all the service team members and all LFP and girls retreat participants. 17 families came for the family gathering. After the adoration and anointing ceremony we had a zero hour meeting with Bishop.

During that meeting, a need of monthly gathering came up and we have decided to gather every 3rd Sunday starting from October. 3 elders and 4 youth were ready to take in charge. By the blessing of our LORD, we got Sr. Jees Maria, Alvernia Convent as our Animator. Sr.Jees Maria was with us in the venue arranging all our needs…

Lets pray that our initiatives be a beginning for our youth to live Jesus in this modern rushing world.
